ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a 4-1 decision to Gwynedd Mercy University on Thursday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Kyle Leone had two hits for the Knights and knocked in the only run. Jeremy Hutchison started the game and went 5.0 innings. He allowed four runs, two earned, on three hits while striking out four. Lorenzo Williams went two innings. Five pitchers went the final two scoreless innings.

Gwynedd Mercy scored two unearned runs to start the game in the top of the first inning. The Griffins then added two more runs in the fifth inning. Neumann plated its only run in the seventh when Leone knocked in Cam Stimpson. The Knights went down quietly in the eighth and ninth innings.

Neumann (5-11, 2-4 CSAC) opens its conference series with Cairn tomorrow after. First pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
