GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team took a doubleheader at Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. Game scores were 12-3 and 8-1.

In game one, Lauren Wilkie had four hits, knocked in four runs and pitched 7.0 innings. She allowed three runs, two earned on seven hits and struck out three for the win. Marisa Giordano and Allie White each scored three runs while Becca Reinhart knocked in three runs.

After the Griffins took an early 2-0 lead in game one, the Knights plated four runs in the fifth inning. Becky Guinto hit an RBI single for the first run. Wilkie then hit a bases clearing double. Neumann followed in the next inning by scoring six runs. Reinhart hit a two-run double in the inning.

Neumann then added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh for the 12-3 final.

In game two, Reinhart had four hits. Guinto knocked in three runs. Kristin Beaty went 7.0 innings for the win. She allowed one unearned run on two hits and struck out three.

Neumann put three runs on the board in the first inning. Guinto hit a two-run single. The Knights then plated four runs in the fourth inning. Megan Williams had an RBI triple in the inning. Williams then came around to score an unearned run in the fifth inning.

Neumann (13-5, 9-1) will travel to Keystone tomorrow to continue its CSAC action packed week. First pitch for game one is slated for 3 PM.
