Baseball Takes Two from Pacers

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball took a pair of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) games from Marywood University on Saturday afternoon. Game scores were 4-1 and 10-4.

 

In game one, the Knights won 4-1. Jeremy Hutchison went 5.0 innings for the win. He allowed one run on four hits and struck out four. Zach Youngberg went 2.0 hitless innings for the save.

 

The teams traded runs in the third inning for a 1-1 game. The Knights plated two unearned runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead. AJ Koscelansky then knocked in an insurance run in the fifth inning en route to the 4-1 win.

 

In game two, Patrick Graham started the game and went 3.0 innings. He allowed two runs on four hits. Kevin Giffin picked up the win going 0.2 innings in relief.

 

The Pacers scored one run in the top of the first inning. Neumann then sent 10 batters to the plate and scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead. The Pacers got one run back in the top of the third with a solo homerun.

 

Jarad Carney hit a two-run single in the third inning for a 6-1 lead. Neumann added two more in the fourth inning for an 8-2 game. Neumann added another run in the fifth and sixth en route to the 10-4 win.

 

After the games, the Knights honored the seniors from this year's squad: Trevor Wilkins, Adrian LaRowe, Drew Snow, Ted Fletcher, Scott Dougherty, JJ Sims and Otto Loor.

 

Neumann (17-19, 10-8 CSAC) will now wait to see the seedings for the CSAC Championship tournament next week.
