CAMDEN, N.J. – The Neumann University women's tennis team opened the 2014 season with a 5-4 win at Rutgers University – Camden on Friday afternoon.

The Knights opened the match by taking two of the three doubles points. Bre Klar and Justice Mallard (second doubles) and Talene Brinker and Cherie Allen (third doubles) each won by a score of 8-2.

In singles action, the fourth, fifth and sixth slots came away with wins for the victory. Allen won fourth singles 6-2, 6-1. Teresa Kozin took fifth singles 6-2, 6-4. Mallard won sixth singles with ease, 6-0, 6-0.

Neumann (1-0) will travel to the University of the Sciences for some action against a Division II school on Thursday. Action gets underway at 3:30 PM.
