Box Score 2 ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Neumann University volleyball team took a pair of matches at the Lebanon Valley Quad Match on Saturday. The Knights won both matches against Bridgewater and Frostburg State in five sets, 3-2.
The first match of the day was against Bridgewater. The Knights won the first set 25-18. The Eagles took sets two and three, 25-23 and 25-20. Neumann easily won the fourth set 25-14 to go to the fifth and deciding set. The Knights hung on and won 15-11 to take the match.
Kelsey D'Imperio led the Knights with 13 kills. Sarah Sanderson and Anna Waltz each had 12 kills. Waltz also led three Knights in double-digit kills with 17. Julia Malseed had 15 and Danielle Kwapisz added 11. Kat Wolf handed out 43 assists.
D'Imperio notched four block solos. Malseed added five service aces while Waltz had four and Wolf three.
Frostburg State won the first two sets to start the second match of the day, 25-20, 25-21. Neumann came back to win set three 25-17. Set four was a battle and the Knights sent the match to a fifth set with a 27-25 win. Neumann then won the deciding set 15-10.
Waltz led Neumann with 16 kills while D'Imperio added 12. Wolf dished out 46 assists. Malseed notched 27 digs, followed by Waltz with 22. Wolf had 16 and Kwapisz added 12.
Neumann (11-4) gets back to conference action on Wednesday when it travels to Keystone. The match begins at 7:00 PM.
