ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's ice hockey defeated Fredonia 2-1 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Anthony Pino scored the game winner 2:31 into the overtime session while the teams were playing 4-on-4. Pino put the puck in the net off a faceoff win from Zac Lazzaro.

The teams played two scoreless periods to start the game. Jory Mullin opened the scoring on the power play 5:49 into the third period. Brandon Gagne and Dan McDougall tallied the assists.

The Blue Devils tied the game at one on a shorthanded goal with 5:32 left in regulation.

Matt Gibney made his first collegiate start and earned his first win, making 38 saves. The Knights killed off nine Blue Devil power plays and went 1-for-5.

Neumann (8-4-2) will host SUNY-Geneseo on Thursday before heading to SUNY-Geneseo on Saturday for a home and home. Game time for both games are 7:00 PM.
