ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's tennis team defeated Summit University 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in the final Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match of the regular season.
Prior to the match, the Knights recognized seniors
Colleen Waters,
Sarah Schroeder and
Talene Brinker.
Neumann opened the match by taking all three doubles matches. Brinker and Schroeder won first doubles 8-4.
Lilly Escobar and
Angaline Salvucci took the second doubles 8-2. Waters and
Mariah Schiessl rounded out with an 8-3 win.
In singles play, Schroder won first singles 6-1, 6-2. Brinker battled at second singles and came away with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 win. Salvucci took fourth singles 6-0, 6-1. Fifth and sixth singles won in pro-sets as
Danielle Rush won 8-2 and Waters won 8-0, respectively.
Neumann (4-10, 2-8 CSAC) will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday when it travels to Stockton University. The match is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
