ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to Stevenson University in the 2015-16 season opener.
The Mustangs got on the board first 5:40 into the first period.
Bek Lucas tied the game at one at the 11:16 mark of the first off an assist from
Lauren Cusack.
Stevenson would score the eventual game-winner just 26 seconds into the second period. The Mustangs added an insurance goal midway through the second with a power play goal. Neither team lit the lamp in the third period.
Justina Mayr made 34 saves in net.
Neumann (0-1) will head to Stevenson tomorrow for the back end of the home-and-home. Action gets underway at 5:15 PM.
