PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell 4-2 to Buffalo State on Friday evening in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
The teams traded power play goals in the first period. The Bengals got on the board first at the 9:06 mark. The Knights answered as
Kelly Fox tallied her first goal of the season five minutes later.
Zoe Harkins and
Donna Williams had the assists.
Buffalo State took a 2-1 lead seven minutes into the second period on another man-advantage goal.
Bek Lucas scored her third goal of the season at the 12:50 mark to tie the game at two.
Megan Russelo notched the assist. Less than a minute later, the Bengals answered with the eventual game-winning goal.
Buffalo State added an insurance goal with 3:16 left in regulation.
Justina Mayr made 29 saves in net. The Bengals outshot the Knights 33-25 in the game.
Neumann (0-5, 0-3 ECAC West) and Buffalo State will face-off again tomorrow beginning at 5:15 PM.
