GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Neumann University men's basketball dropped an 86-71 decision at Stockton University on Friday evening at the Stockton Tip-Off Tournament.
DeShawn Lowman led the Knights with 23 points.
Kevin Green had 15 points and
James Butler added 14.
Both team had their runs in the first half. Neumann took a one point deficit, 15-14, and went on an 11-2 run for a 25-17 lead on a jumper by Lowman with 5:17 on the clock. Stockton went on a run of its own to end the half and held a 32-29 lead at the break.
The game remained close throughout most of the second half, with five knotted scores. With eight minutes left in regulation, Green hit a three-pointer for a 61-60 Osprey's lead. Over the next four minutes, Stockton went on a 15-4 run to take the late control of the game. The Ospreys were able to keep the Knights at bay until the buzzer sounded for the 86-71 win.
Neumann (1-2) will face Wesley College in day two of the Stockton Tournament beginning at 1:00 PM.
