ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's hockey team was doubled up by Nazareth College 4-2 in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.
Each team was able to find the back of the net in the first period. The Golden Flyers scored first at the 9:05 mark.
Jory Mullin tied the game 1:05 later off a pass from
Mike Davis.
Doug Rose put Neumann up 2-1 with a power play goal at the 5:04 mark of the second period.
Brandon Gagne and
Jon Low tallied the assists. The Knights would take the 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
Nazareth scored two power play goals in a span of 51 seconds in the third period to take a 3-2 advantage. The Golden Flyers added an empty net goal with 15 seconds left to seal the win.
The Knights outshot the Golden Flyers 37-32.
Matt Gibney made 28 saves in net.
Neumann (4-3, 2-3 ECAC West) will host Morrisville State for a pair of games next weekend in non-conference action.
