ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team picked up its first win of the season, a 2-1 win against William Smith on in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.

Bek Lucas scored both goals for the Knights. Megan Russelo tallied two assists. Justina Mayr made 28 saves in net.

Lucas scored first 6:15 into the first period. Russelo and Grace Klienbach had the assists. The Herons tied the game with 50 seconds left in the first and the teams went into the intermission tied.

Lucas put the Knights up 2-1 midway through the third period, off an assist from Russelo. Neumann kept William Smith off the board for win number one.

Neumann (1-6-1, 1-4-1 ECAC West) will now hit the road for the next seven games, beginning at Manhattanville on Tuesday for a non-conference game beginning at 3:00 PM.
