PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Neumann University women's hockey team dropped a 9-1 decision at No. 1 Plattsburgh State on Sunday afternoon in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
Neumann started the game off with a power play goal.
Jackie Schneider tallied her first collegiate goal 2:26 into the game.
Bek Lucas and Luren Cusack notched the assists.
The Cardinals answered with three goals in each period for the 9-1 final.
The Knights went 1-for-3 on the power play.
Justina Mayr made 67 saves in net. Final shots for the game had Plattsburgh with 76 and Neumann with 15. Casey Killduf had five shots for the Knights.
"This weekend was a great test for our hockey team. We played a very talented Plattsburgh team and learned what it will take to be a contender in the ECAC West," said Coach Kearns. "We learned a great deal and look to grow as a hockey team moving forward."
Neumann (0-4, 0-2 ECAC West) will host Buffalo State in two conference games next Friday and Saturday.
