ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team wrapped up 2015 with an 81-48 win over Rutgers University – Camden on Wednesday evening.
James Butler led five Knights in double-digits with 14 points and added 11 rebounds.
Denzel Yard scored 13 points and
Tyaire Hudson added 12.
DeShawn Lowman and
Tony Parker each had 11. Nine Knights put points on the board overall.
The team hit 10 three pointers. Yard, Lowman and Parker hit three apiece.
Terrell Blackwell also added a shot from downtown. The Knights shot 48.5% from the field over the 40 minutes.
Neumann held the pace of the game from the start, scoring the first six points and 21 of the first 23, to hold a 21-2 lead just five minutes into the game. The Knights continued to build its lead and took a 48-22 advantage into the break.
The Knights had 11 members contribute on the court throughout the game. Neumann continued to hold its comfortable lead in the second half and cruised to the 81-48 win.
Neumann finishes 2015 5-5 overall and 1-2 in conference action. The Knights will play all conference games in the second semester, beginning at Marywood on January 5. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
