Baseball Wins First Game of 2015 Season

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team was finally able to get the 2015 campaign underway and picked up a 4-1 win against Clark University on Sunday evening.

With the win, Head Coach John Fleming won his 150th game at the helm of the Neumann baseball team. As he begins his seventh season as a Knight, Coach Fleming is 150-102-2 overall. He has qualified for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason in his six seasons with three ECAC Appearances and two NCAA bids.

Kristian DeLuzio threw a one hitter over eight innings to get the win. Anthony Stricker pitched the ninth inning for the save. Matt Sheneman knocked in two runs Kye Williams scored two runs and AJ Koscelansky had two hits.

The Knights scored a run in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Williams was hit by a pitch as the first batter. He came around to score on a ground out by Buddy Elgin. Neumann added a run in the fifth and two in the seventh for a 4-0 lead. Clark scored its only run in the ninth inning.

Neumann (1-0) will face St. Vincent College tomorrow afternoon. First pitch is slated for 11:30 AM.
