Baseball Falls at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Neumann University baseball team fell at Immaculata 14-9 on Monday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

AJ Koscelansky and Kye Williams each had two hits in the game. Daniel Nicolaisen and Williams knocked in two runs. Matt Sheneman scored two runs.

Kristian DeLuzio started the game and went 3.2 innings. He allowed eight runs, seven earned, on nine hits. Tyler Thomas went 2.2 innings in relief, allowing four runs, two earned. Kevin Giffin and Lorenzo Williams went the final 1.2 innings.

The Knights jump on the board early, scoring two unearned runs in the first inning. Neumann then added two more runs in the third inning on a two-run single by Nicolaisen for a 4-0 lead.

The Mighty Macs answered with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take an 8-4 lead. In the top of the sixth, the Knights plated three runs to get to within one. Immaculata took advantage of Neumann error in the seventh and scored five more runs for a 14-7 lead.

Neumann would score two runs in the top of the ninth on a single by Williams, but would not be able to take back the lead.

Neumann (6-2, 1-1 CSAC) will look to finally open home action Wednesday when it hosts Immaculata for a CSAC doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM.
