After a much delayed start to the Spring season, the Men's Rugby team took the pitch versus Division-II Bloomsburg on Saturday, April 11. A pregame paryer and moment of silence was held for fallen alum Dan Mills, who passed away a few days prior.Â
The Knights were led by senior Terrance  Downs who scored two trys. The second coming on the final play to bring Neumann within a draw-cinching conversion by Eli Rodriguez for a 17-17 tie. Downs opened the scoring at the four-minute mark for 5-0 lead. Freshman  newcomer
Ryan Waters had to leave the match with injury  forcing the Blue Knights  to play a man down. Marcus Gordon Lewis scored the second try for the 10-0 advantage for the club, but the Huskies responded with three unaswered trys to take a 17-10 lead.Â
After a red card to Neumann, the Rugby Club was forced to play most of the second half two-men down. Neumann would not go down without a fight and their perseverance paid off as Downs connected on the final try of the match.
The fifteens match was followed  by a pair of sevens matches with Bloomsburg as well as Albright University. Neumann saw outstanding play from
Joe Ellis, Reggie Tarwally, Luke Falkenberg, and
Devlin Houlihan. Senior graduates
Terrance Downs,
Dante Henry,
Bentley Woods(original member), Tom Fox (original member), and
Joe Guest were honored with a ceremonial tunnel off the pitch. We wish them all the best of luck.
