ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team opened the 2015 season with a 6-3 win over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights opened the match by taking all three doubles points.
Sarah Schroeder and
Talene Brinker won first doubles 8-1. The duo of
Lilly Escobar and
Angaline Salvucci took second doubles 8-5. Third doubles was won by forfeit.
In singles action, Schroeder won the first flight 6-0, 6-0. Brinker was victorious at second singles, 6-2, 6-0.
"It was a good way to start the season," said head coach
Kayla Chamberlain. "As we grow as a team, the wins will just get better."
Neumann (1-0) opens conference action next Friday when it travels to Notre Dame beginning at 4:00 PM.
