ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's hockey dropped a 4-1 non-conference decision to SUNY-Geneseo on Tuesday evening, halting a four game winning streak.
Geneseo scored early, finding the back of the net 2:31 into the game. The Knights then added two more goals in the second period for a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Geneseo took a 4-0 lead with a goal 4:20 into the third period. Neumann spoiled the shutout bid at the 13:44 mark of the third.
Jake Davidson buried a pass from
Brandon Gagne from the sideboard.
Liam Board also tallied an assist.
Mitch Wiebe made 23 saves in net. The Knights hit two posts in the game and had an open net chance go just wide. Neumann outshot Geneseo 32-27.
Neumann (10-5) and Geneseo (9-3-2) will meet again on Friday, this time up in New York. The puck is slated to drop at 7:00 PM.
