GENESEO, N.Y. - The Neumann University men's hockey team played to a 5-5 draw at SUNY-Geneseo on Friday evening in non-conference action.
Mike Davis scored two goals and added an assist.
Shayne Morrissey handed out three assists.
Jory Mullin added a goal and an assist.
Tyler LeFebvre started the game and made 20 saves in just over 35 minutes.
Mitch Wiebe made 15 saves in relief and did not allow a goal.
Geneseo scored two quick goals early to open the game and take a 2-0 lead. Neumann answered with two power play goals. Davis cut the lead to 2-1 off assists from Morrissey and
Steve Low.
Liam Board then tied the game at two at the 14:00 minute mark.
Jake Davidson tallied the assist. The Ice Knights took back the lead with 26 seconds remaining in the first period.
The Ice Knights scored two goals in the second period to take a 5-2 lead. Neumann then began its comeback.
Shane Topf scored the first of three unanswered goals when he found the back of the net with 2:50 left in the second off an assist from
Doug Rose. Geneseo took the 5-3 lead into the second intermission.
The Knights scored two goals as the third period clock was winding down to tie the game at five. Mullin scored Neumann's fourth goal with 4:32 left in regulation off a pass from Morrissey. With 2:10 on the clock, Davis scored his second goal of the game from Morrissey and Mullin.
Neither team could score in overtime and the game ended knotted at five.
Neumann (10-5-1) gets back into conference action next weekend when it heads to Utica for a pair of games.
