UTICA, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's hockey team played to a 2-2 tie at Utica College on Saturday evening in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
Jon Low opened the scoring 1:02 into the game to give the Knights an early lead.
Connor Annett and
Brandon Gagne tallied the assists and Neumann took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Utica tied the game at one at the 11:03 mark of the second period while on the power play. The Knights then had to kill off four penalties, including some 5-on-3 time. One back to full strength,
Jordan Watt put Neumann back in the lead with a goal 1:07 before the second intermission.
Shane Topf and
Steve Low handed out the assists.
The Pioneers scored the only goal in the third, midway through the period and on the man advantage. The teams played a scoreless five minute overtime and came away with the 2-2 tie.
Mitch Wiebe made 45 saves in net, including five in overtime.
Neumann (10-6-2, 2-5-1 ECAC West) returns home next weekend to host Elmira for a pair of conference games.
