ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's hockey defeated Elmira College 5-3 in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Gagne,
Nick Perruccio and
Liam Board each had a goal and an assist in the game.
Jake Davidson handed out two assists.
Mitch Wiebe made 46 saves, including 24 in the third period.
The Soaring Eagles scored the first two goals of the game for an early 2-0 lead. Gagne got the Knights on the board with 2:07 left in the first period as he buried the puck after a scrum in front of the net.

Just 57 seconds into the second period, Perruccio found the back of the net off a pass from Davidson to tie the game at two. Elmira answered 30 second later to take back the lead.
Ryan Luiten tied the game at three at the 13:13 mark of the second. Davidson and
Shayne Morrissey had the assists.
With 1:47 remaining before the second intermission,
Shane Topf had his shot trickle past the Elmira goalie to give Neumann its first lead of the afternoon. Perruccio assisted and the Knights took the 4-3 lead into the locker room.
The Soaring Eagles threw everything they had at the Knights in the third period in their attempt to tie the game. Wiebe and the Knights turned away all 24 shots on goal in the period. Board then decided it was time to seal the win and sank an empty net goal with 24 seconds left in regulation. Gagne tallied the assist.
Neumann (11-6-3, 2-5-2 ECAC West) will host Hobart for a pair of ECAC West games next weekend.
