ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team blanked No. 3/4 Hobart College 2-0 on Friday evening in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
Nick Perruccio tallied a goal and an assist.
Mitch Wiebe made 42 saves in net for the shutout win. The Knights held the Statesmen to 0-for-4 on the man advantage.
Casey Rogers netted the eventual game-winning goal with 4:15 left in the first period on a slap shot from the point. Perruccio and
Shane Topf had the assists.
Perruccio scored his goal 4:53 into the second period. The junior was able to slide the puck into the back of the net off an assist from
Mike Davis.
The two goals in the first two periods proved to be enough for the Knights to upset the Statesmen. Hobart did throw a lot of pucks at the net, outshooting Neumann 42-27.
Neumann (12-6-3, 4-5-2 ECAC West) and Hobart (16-3-2, 9-2 ECAC West) will meet again tomorrow afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM.
