ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball defeated Rosemont College 87-79 on Thursday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

DeShawn Lowman scored his 1,000
th point with 4:22 left in the second half to put the Knights up by a 73-72 score. Lowman finished with 17 points, five rebounds, six assists and a block and is the 15
th men's basketball player to reach the 1,000 point mark.
Darian Barnes scored 26 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and blocked eight shots.
James Butler added 19 points and blocked two shots.
Tyaire Hudson handed out seven assists.
Neumann opened the game by scoring the first seven points. Over the next 10 minutes, the Knights built a 35-20 advantage. Lowman connected on a three-pointer with 2:15 left in the first half for a 42-30 lead. However, the Ravens started to make a move and went on an 8-0 run to end the half. Neumann held a 42-38 lead at the break.
Rosemont came out of the locker room on fire and the Ravens took their first lead, 46-44, 2:44 into the half. Two free throws by Hudson would knot the game at 48. Rosemont would then score the next 11 points.
Denzel Yard broke the Knights scoreless drought with a three-pointer with 13:44 on the clock.
The Knights chipped away at the Ravens lead and took back a one point lead, 64-63, on a layup by Yard with just under eight minutes remaining. The teams would trade baskets and leads for the next few minutes.
At the 4:22 mark, Lowman stole the ball from the Ravens, dribbled down the court for an easy layup to surpass the 1,000 point mark and give Neumann a 73-72 lead. Rosemont hit 1-of-2 from the free throw to tie the game at 73. Barnes then connected on a layup for give the Knights a lead they would not relinquish. Two free throws by Lowman with 26 seconds left sealed the win.
Neumann (7-5, 3-2 CSAC) will host Summit on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 PM.
