ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team defeated Summit University 84-55 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Saturday afternoon.
James Butler led three Knights in double-digits with 17 points.
Darian Barnes added 14 points and 17 boards for a double-double while blocking four shots.
Tony Parker had 11 points. The win was a total team effort as 10 Knights scored points and all 11 grabbed at least one rebound.
With the game tied at six, Neumann went on an 11-0 run for a 17-6 lead. Summit scored six of the next eight points to get back within seven, 19-12. During the final five minutes of the first half, with the score 28-17, the Knights outscored the Defenders 21-6 for a 48-21 lead at the half.
The Knights kept the Defenders at arms-length during the second half to cruise to the 84-55 win.
Neumann (8-5, 4-2 CSAC) will hit the road for its next three games. The Knights start at Centenary on Wednesday evening beginning at 8:00 PM.
