MAHWAH, N.J. – The Neumann University field hockey team doubled-up Ramapo College 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Colleen Hoy and
Noelle Durham found the back of the net for the Knights. Neumann outshot Ramapo 14-4 overall. The Knights defense held the Roadrunners to just one shot on goal while they notched 11.
As time was winding down in the first half, Hoy netted the first goal of the contest with 19 seconds left before halftime. The sophomore scored her second goal of the season off a pass from
Julia Mustin.
The Roadrunners tied the game at two 2:26 into the second half. Durham tallied her first goal of the season, the eventual game-winner, in the 54
th minute.
Chelsea Kulesza inbounded a penalty corner to
Jessica Harrell who got the ball to Durham. The Knights had 11 penalty corners in the game.
"It was great to have others step up and take opportunities in the win today. I was pleased to see Noelle and Colleen finish in the circle. The defense is getting stronger every time we step on the field as well as our team communication. We are looking forward to Arcadia later in the week." – Coach Kurpel.
Neumann (8-5) will head to Arcadia on Thursday for non-conference action beginning at 5:00 PM.
