ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell to Gwynedd Mercy University 5-0 on Wednesday evening in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup.
The teams remained close in the first half. The Griffins scored the only goal of the first 35 minutes on a penalty stroke in the 14
th minute. The Knights led the shot count 6-3 as the teams went into halftime.
The second half was a different story as Gwynedd Mercy netted four goals and outshot Neumann 15-2.
Caitlyn Johnson made six saves in net while
Alexis Damask tallied a defensive save.
Jessica Harrell led Neumann with four shots and
Becky Guinto added three.
Neumann (9-6, 2-3 CSAC) will host Marywood on Saturday in conference action. Prior to the 12:00 PM start, the Knights will honor their seniors.
