ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell in overtime, 2-1, to Marywood University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Neumann recognized its seniors after the contest:
Becca Wallace,
Jessica Harrell and
Becky Guinto.
The Pacers opened the scoring the lone goal of the first half as they found the net in the 28
th minute.
The Knights had a chance to tie the game in the 47
th minute when they were awarded a penalty stroke. The Pacer keeper made a kick save to keep the game 1-0. Harrell would break through and tie the game in the 58
th minute.
Chelsea Kulesza took a penalty corner and got the ball to Guinto. Guinto then passed the ball to Harrell, who was able to put the ball in the back of the cage.
Marywood would take advantage of its own corner in overtime for the 2-1 win.
The Knights outshot the Pacers 18-11 overall and 11-6 on net.
Caitlyn Johnson made four saves in net. Neumann also had the edge in penalty corner, 11-5.
Neumann (9-7, 2-4 CSAC) will wrap up the regular season on Thursday when it hosts Notre Dame. Action gets underway at 5:00 PM.
