HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win at Centenary College on Thursday evening.
All 12 Knights that hit the court contributed in the win.
Rachael Hoffman had six kills as five Knights had at least three kills in in the match.
Rachel Cray handed out 15 assists. The freshman added nine service aces as the team tallied 17 in the match. Ten Knights notched at least one dig.
The Cyclones came out with a fast start and built an early 5-1 lead in set one. Kills by
Molly Murtha brought the Knights back and tied the game at six and then put Neumann ahead 7-6. With
Melanie Malseed at the service line, the Knights built their lead to 13-7 and came away with 25-14 first set win.
In set two, the Knights took control early. Cray served 15 straight times as Neumann built up a 20-3 lead. Malseed served the final three points for the 25-5 set two win.
The Knights did not let up in set three.
Nikki Collevechio served the final four points, including three service aces, to seal the win 25-11.
Neumann (16-13, 8-1 CSAC) will head back north next Tuesday for more CSAC action at Keystone beginning at 7:00 PM.
