ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team defeated Cedar Crest College 5-1 on a rainy Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Chelsea Kulesza had two goals for the Knights.
Julia Mustin had a goal and an assist.
Jessica Harrell added two assists.
Caitlyn Johnson made two saves in net. The Knights outshot the Falcons 21-4 overall and 14-3 on net.
Mustin put the Knights on the board early, just 2:52 into the game off a pass from Harrell. Kulesza netted her two goals in a just over a minute span and the Knights held a 3-0 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Falcons scored their long goal in the 29
th minute and Neumann took a 3-1 lead into halftime.
Alexis Damask put Neumann up 4-1 in the 57
th minute.
Kelsey Semon scored her first collegiate goal off an assist from
Kay Roy for an insurance goal in the 62
nd minute for a 5-1 lead.
Neumann (7-5, 2-2 CSAC) will head to Ramapo College on Tuesday for non-conference action beginning at 4:00 PM.
