ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 1 Plattsburgh State on Saturday afternoon in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
The Cardinals struck fast, netting three goals in the first seven minutes, starting with a power play goal. Plattsburgh added another goal in the final minute of the first period for a 4-0 score.
Plattsburgh added another power play goal midway through the second period. The Knights held the Cardinals off the scoreboard in the third period.
Julia Fair started the game in net and made 26 saves in the first two periods.
Helen Cooney made 13 saves in the third period.
Neumann (1-5, 0-4 ECAC West) will head on the road for the first time this season as it heads to SUNY-Cortland for a pair of conference games next Friday and Saturday.
