ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell to Chatham University 3-1 on Friday afternoon in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
The Cougars scored first on a power play at the 8:10 mark of the first period. The Knights answered back when
Donna Williams found the back of the net off an assist from
Bek Lucas. The team went into the first intermission tied at one.
Chatham took control in the second period, finding the back of the net twice to complete the scoring. Neumann tried to make a comeback attempt in the third period outshooting Chatham 12-3, but could not find the back of the net.
Justina Mayr made 22 saves in net.
Neumann (5-18-1, 2-14-1 ECAC West) will wrap up the season tomorrow in the series finale against Chatham. Before the puck drops at 2:00 PM, the Knights will honor their eight seniors.
