ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team dropped a 7-1 decision to No. 3/4 Hobart College on Saturday afternoon in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
Hobart come out quickly and scored two early goals. The Statesmen added a power play goal with 2:06 left in the period to take a 3-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.
The Statesmen added three more goals in the second period, one coming on the man advantage, for a 6-0 lead after two periods.
Jon Low scored the lone goal for the Knights, spoiling the Statesmen shutout bid. Low scored 3:22 into the third period while Neumann was killing a five minute penalty. Hobart was able to net one more goal with less than a minute remaining for the 7-1 final.
Mitch Wiebe started the game and made 18 saves.
Tyler LeFebvre made 24 saves in relief.
Neumann (12-7-3, 4-6-2 ECAC West) will head to Nazareth next weekend for a pair of ECAC West contests.
