ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's ice hockey team dropped a 7-2 game to SUNY-Potsdam on Friday afternoon in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West play.
The Bears struck first with a power play goal in the first period.
Megan Russelo tied the game at one at the 6:16 mark of the first and the teams went into the first intermission knotted at one.
Potsdam retook the lead with a 5-on-3 goal 6:18 into the second period. Just over a minute later,
Bek Lucas scored a 4-on-4 goal to tie the game at two. The Bears took back the lead again at the 14:31 mark of the second. With 11 seconds remaining before the second intermission, Potsdam scored for a 4-2 lead.
The Bears added three more goals in the third period for the 7-2 win.
Justina Mayr made 43 saves in net for the Knights.
Neumann (4-15-1, 2-12-1 ECAC West) and Potsdam (7-12-2, 2-11-1 ECAC West) will face-off again tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM.
