LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a 19-2 win at Keystone College on Tuesday afternoon.
Nine Knights scored in the win.
Rebecca Dolenti and
Taylor Klever led the Knights with four goals apiece.
Jordan Hopkins scored three goals, handed out four assists and won 12 draw controls.
Kaitlyn Conrad and
Diana Caicedo notched two goals each.
Shae Risley had a goal and two assists.
Becca Wallace started in net and made one save.
The Knights took a 2-0 lead early in the first half with goals by Dolenti and Klever. Keystone got on the board at the 25:30 mark to make it 2-1. The Knights then scored 13 straight goals to bring their lead at halftime to 15-1. Neumann outshot Keystone 33-2 in the first half and doubled up on ground balls 26-12.
The Giants scored first in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome their large deficit. At the 18:40 mark,
Brittany Cassidy found the back of the net to extend the lead. The Knights added three additional goals, including
Rachael Hoffmann netting her first collegiate goal with 6:50 left in regulation.
Neumann (2-2, 1-0 CSAC) will host Centenary College on Saturday. The game is slated to begin at 11:00 AM.
