ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team shut out Rosemont College 16-0 on Tuesday afternoon to improve to 4-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Jordan Hopkins and
Rebecca Dolenti led the Knights with five goals apiece. Hopkins also notched three assists.
Shae Risley added four goals.
Diana Caicedo had a goal and two assists while
Taylor Klever added a goal and an assist.
Becca Wallace started in net and made five saves en route to her first career shutout.
The Knights scored 11 goals in the first half. Risley started off Neumann's scoring with a goal at the 27:15 mark, and Hopkins followed with a goal at 25:59. Dolenti netted three straight goals to give the Knights a 5-0 advantage just 10 minutes into the game. Two goals by Hopkins and Risley, and one by Caicedo and Dolenti concluded the first half and put Neumann up 11-0 going into halftime.
In the second half, two additional goals by Hopkins and one by Dolenti, Risley and Klever secured the 16-0 win for the Knights.
Neumann (5-2, 4-0 CSAC) will travel to Rutgers University-Camden on Thursday for non-conference action. The game is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
