IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team remained undefeated in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a 16-8 win at Immaculata on Wednesday afternoon.
Jordan Hopkins led the Knights with eight goals, two assists and 10 draw controls.
Diana Caicedo netted four goals and handed out two assists.
Rebecca Dolenti had two goals and an assists while
Kaitlyn Conrad added a goal and an assist.
Becca Wallace made eight saves in net.
Caicedo scored the Knights first goal at the 28:20 mark of the first half. The Mighty Macs answered back to tie the game. Hopkins then put Neumann back on top at 18:45, but Immaculata came back scoring five minutes later, 2-2.
With 7:35 remaining, Hopkins scored back-to-back goals to take the lead, 4-2. Dolenti netted a goal to take a three-goal advantage.
In the last 3:03 in the first half, the Mighty Macs scored another goal. Caicedo netted her second goal to finish the first half with a 6-3 lead.
Hopkins scored four minutes into the second half. The teams exchanged goals over a six minute span and the Mighty Macs got to within two, 8-6. Starting at the 20:01 mark, the Knights found the back of the net seven straight times to increase their lead, 15-6.
In the final five minutes of the game, Immaculata scored two back-to-back goals. Neumann answered back scoring the last goal of the game to take home a 16-8 victory.
Neumann (9-3, 6-0 CSAC) will travel to Cabrini College on Saturday afternoon for more conference action beginning at 1:00 PM.
