RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team suffered its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss at Cabrini College, 17-9, on Saturday afternoon.
Three Knights netted a pair of goals in the game;
Jordan Hopkins,
Rebecca Dolenti and
Diana Caicedo. Hopkins also had two assists and nine draw controls.
Kaitlyn Conrad and
Shae Risley each added a goal and an assist.
The Cavaliers scored 24 seconds into the game and took a 9-0 lead at halftime.
Hopkins put Neumann on the board to start the scoring in the second half. The teams battled back and forth throughout the second 30 minutes, with the Knights outscoring the Cavaliers 9-8 in the second half. But the first half deficit was too much to overcome.
Becca Wallace stood tall in net and made 21 saves in net.
Neumann (9-4, 6-1 CSAC) will host Gwynedd Mercy on Thursday evening in a rescheduled game from last Saturday. The contest is slated to start at 6:00 PM.
