IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a doubleheader against Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. The scores were 7-3 and 6-5.
In game one,
Eric Bergman had three hits and batted in a run.
Duncan Balara had a double and a triple and scored a run.
Patrick Graham started on the mound. He allowed seven runs, three earned, on four hits and struck out three in 2.1 innings.
James Angellella finished out the game, allowing one hit and striking out two in 3.2 innings.
Immaculata took a 7-0 lead in the first three innings. The Mighty Macs scored one unearned run in the first, three unearned runs in the second, and three earned runs in the third.
The Knights got on the board in the fourth on a single by

AJ Koscelansky. Neumann scored a second run in the fifth. Balara tripled to right field and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Chuck Trentler. The Knights added another run in the seventh on a single through the right side by Bergman to drive home Trentler for the 7-3 final.
In game two,
Cody MacNair had two hits, including a homerun and three RBI. Bergman had two hits, one RBI and scored a run. Trentler had an RBI and two runs scored.
Matt Anderson started on the mound and pitched 6.1 innings. He allowed three runs on four hits and struck out five.
Anthony Stricker pitched in relief in the seventh. He allowed three runs on three hits and took the loss.
Neumann took a 4-0 lead in the third on an RBI double by Trentler, an RBI single by Bergman, and a two-run homerun by MacNair. Immaculata got two runs back in the fourth. In the fifth, MacNair singled to drive home Trentler and give the Knights a 6-2 lead.
The Mighty Macs scored four runs in the bottom half of the seventh to come away with the 6-5 walk-off win.
Neumann (13-14, 6-4 CSAC) will host Cairn University for a pair of games on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 1:30 PM.
