SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team shutout Marywood University 5-0 on Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Neumann first hit of the afternoon was a double by
Kye Williams top lead off the fourth inning. He came around to score on a single by
Cody MacNair and the Knights led 1-0 after four inning.
The Knights added single runs in the fifth through eighth inning.
Duncan Balara led off the fifth inning with a walk and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Eric Bergman.
Jonathan DelValle walked in the sixth inning and scored on a single by
Sam Banks.
Bergman scored on a single by
AJ Koscelansky in the seventh inning for a 4-0 lead.
Chuck Trentler reached on an error and then scored on a sacrifice fly NacNair.
Kristian DeLuzio went the distance, pitching nine innings of shutout baseball. He allowed just five hits and struck out eight.
Neumann (17-14, 9-4 CSAC) will host Marywood for a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 12:00 PM.
