ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team fell late to No. 27 Rutgers University Camden 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Eric Bergman went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Curt Yenchik had three hits, 2 RBI and scored a run.
Duncan Balara had two hits and batted in a run.
AJ Koscelansky also had two hits and scored a run.
Matt Anderson started on the mound and pitched 4.0 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and striking out one.
Patrick Graham pitched the next 4.0 innings in relief and allowed one run on two hits and struck out five.
Zach Youngberg came into the game with a runner on base in the ninth and took the loss in 0.1 innings.
Jerome Cevetello wrapped up the ninth inning.
The Scarlet Raptors put an unearned run on the board in the second and added two more runs in the fourth for a 3-0 lead.
Trailing 3-0 in the fifth, Balara put Neumann on the board with a single to first to bring home Yenchik.

Sam Banks and cut the lead to 3-2.
The Knights tied the game at three in the sixth. Koscelansky doubled with one out and came around to score on a single by Yenchik. Yenchik then put Neumann ahead 4-3 in the eighth with a single to left to drive home Bergman, who led off with a double.
Rutgers tied the game in the ninth and later scored the go-ahead run for the 5-4 final.
Neumann (11-10) will host Gwynedd Mercy University on Friday in CSAC action. First pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
