ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team heads to Ewing, N.J. for regional play of the NCAA Tournament.
The games will be played on the campus of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). The Knights will face the Valiants of Manhattanville College. The College of Staten Island (CSI) Dolphins and TCNJ Lions will face-off in the other first round game in the double-elimination regional.
Four teams will compete at 14 regional sites and three teams will compete at two regional sites on May 13-15, with the team advancing from each regional moving on to the super regional round on May 20 and 21. The finals will be hosted by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the City of Salem, Va., on May 26-31.
Neumann did not face any of the other three teams in this regional during the 2106 season. The Knights are currently 24-14 overall and won their second straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship with a 9-4 win over Cabrini on Sunday. The win gave Neumann its seventh conference title in the past 11 seasons.
The Knights has eight members earn all-conference accolades this season.
Julia Cox and
Danielle Grayson were both named to the CSAC First Team All-Conference.
Lauren Wilkie,
Melissa Rozumalski and
Sarah Murray all received second team honors.
Haley Broomell,
Becky Guinto and
Jackie Schneider received honorable mention accolades.
