ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team dropped its home opener Tuesday afternoon in a 7-2 loss to Notre Dame of Maryland University. The match was also the team's first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup.

Sophie Brink won her second consecutive match for the Knights, prevailing at first singles 6-2, 6-2. The team received another win at sixth singles, as
Danielle Rush won her match 8-0.
The match was much closer than the score indicated, as Knights fell just short in all three doubles matches. Brink and
Lilly Escobar fell 8-6 in first doubles,
Angie Salvucci and
Francess Bockary dropped an 8-6 decision in second doubles, and Rush and
Paige Clift were beaten 9-7 in third doubles.
Neumann (0-2, 0-1 CSAC) next takes the court on Thursday as it hosts Delaware Valley University. The match is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
