UNION, N.J. – The Neumann University field hockey team dropped a non-conference matchup versus Kean University 4-1 on Saturday evening.
The match remained a tight contest throughout the first half. Kean outshot the Knights 20-1 but Neumann goalie
Caitlyn Johnson was tremendous in net, stopping eight shots. The freshman keeper would finish the day with 11 saves overall.
In the second half, Kean's attack finally wore down Neumann as the Cougars found the back of the net three times.
Julia Mustin scored the lone goal of the game for the Knights. The tally marks her ninth goal of the season and fourth in the past two games.
Neumann (3-3) returns to action on Tuesday
as it travels to Wesley College. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
