LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team picked up its first win of the season, 6-3, at Cairn University on Tuesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Angie Salvucci and
Francess Bockary picked up the Knights' lone point in singles action, winning second doubles 8-4.
The Knights then won five out of the six singles flights to win the match. Bockary won her match at fourth singles 6-1, 6-1.
Danielle Rush took fifth singles 6-2, 6-1 and
Dara Law won sixth singles 6-2, 6-3.
Lilly Escobar battled back at second singles. After dropping the first set 6-2, Escobar won 7-5, 11-9 to take the point. Salvucci took the point at third singles by an injury default.
"Our first conference win is a huge success," says Coach Buckley. "We are ready for our two remaining matches of the week."
Neumann (1-6, 1-4 CSAC) will host Eastern on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action beginning at 3:30 PM.
