UNION, N.J. – After two matches were postponed over this past weekend, the Neumann University women's tennis team finally took the court today to open its 2016 season. The season would not start out as planned however, as the Knights fell to Kean University 8-1 in a non-conference match.
Freshman
Sophie Brink was the lone bright spot for the Knights, winning her first ever college match at first singles by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 10-5. Brink and partner
Lilly Escobar also nearly took a point at first doubles, where they fell 8-6.
Neumann (0-1) will next be in action on Saturday as the team hits the road for a match at Goucher College. Start time for the match is 1:00 PM.
