BALTIMORE, Md. – The Neumann University field hockey team picked up its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win of the season by a 3-1 score at Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Gators scored first in the fifth minute. The Knights responded as
Sam Picker scored her first collegiate goal off a penalty corner from
Bri Lagroteria. The teams went into the halftime knotted at one.
In the second half,
Tiffany Flowers netted her first collegiate goal, off an assist from Picker on a penalty corner, in the 44
th minute.
Alexis Damask tallied an insurance goal on a penalty stroke four minutes later.
The Knights outshot the Gators 16-4 overall and 14-4 on goal. Flowers led Neumann with six shots and Picker added four.
Mary Miller and
Lizzie Yu each made a save as thy each played a half in the cage. Damask also picked up a defensive save.
Neumann (2-9, 1-2 CSAC) will host Cabrini on Saturday during homecoming weekend. The Knights will honor their seniors before the game, which is slated to begin at 11:00 AM.
