ASTON, Pa.- The Neumann University men's soccer team begins its journey to a fourth Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship on Tuesday evening as it hosts Marywood University.
Neumann is looking to duplicate the previous matchup between the two teams from last Tuesday. The Knights came away with a 1-0 win on the road as
Jack Norwood headed in the lone goal of the contest.
The Knights are led by senior
Jake McDevitt who is looking to add on his regular season total of 10 goals and three assists. Neumann is also led by senior
Christian Cortese, who has a total of nine points (three goals, three assists).
Brady Simon,
Billy Swontek, and
Jack Norwood have also all contributed multiple goals for the Knights.
Defensively, the Knights lead the CSAC with a goals-against-average of 1.174. The Knights also led the conference with a total of seven Shutouts.
Ian Hunter,
Mitchel Yeakley, Norwood,
Tyler Williams,
Rod Bradbury, and Swontek have all contributed to the defensive success and will look to carry it into the playoffs.
Perry Corsetti has locked it down in net for the Knights finishing with a 1.24 goals-against-average and a .743 save percentage.
The winners of the first-round contests will move on to take on No. 1 seeded Cabrini University and No. 2 seeded Keystone College in the CSAC Semifinals on Thursday. The CSAC Championship will be held Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
