GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Neumann University men's basketball team dropped a high-scoring affair at Rowan University on Saturday afternoon, 109-97.
Tyaire Hudson led six Knights in double-digits with 19 points.
Raquan Brown-Johnson netted 16 points while
Kawaun Chavis added 15.
Aaron Johnson-Chavis had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Billy Cassidy and
Isaiah Wilmore each scored 10 points. Johnson-Chavis had four blocks and Brown-Johnson added three.
Each team had their runs in the first half, with the Knights taking an eight point lead and the Profs holding a six points advantage. Two free-throws by Wilmore put Neumann up 63-59 at the half.
The Profs built an eight point lead in the second half, 80-72, with 14:04 left on the clock. The Knights went on a 17-5 run to take back the lead, 89-85. The teams then tied the score for the sixth time of the afternoon, 93-93, with 8:17 left to play.
Two free throws by Rowan put it back into the lead and started a 12-2 run to jump out to a 105-95 lead with 2:14 left. The Knights would manage just two more free throws during the rest of regulation and fell 109-97.
Neumann (3-1) will get back into conference action on Wednesday when it hosts Rosemont. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 PM.
