PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell at Chatham University 3-2 on Friday afternoon in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
The game went back and forth for the 60 minutes.
Mollie Johnson put Neumann on the board with the only goal of the first period.
Jordyn Cholish and
Zoe Harkins had the assists on the goal at the 17:13 mark.
Chatham netted the lone goal of the second period and the teams went into the final period knotted at one.
Bek Lucas scored her 17
th goal of the season 6:25 into the third to put the Knights up 2-1.
Kelly Fox and
Kate Blad had the assists. The Cougars tied the game at the 13:34 mark and would take the lead with a power play goal two minutes later.
Helen Cooney made 34 saves in net for the Knights.
Neumann (6-15-3, 2-12-3 ECAC West) will wrap up the season tomorrow at Chatham. The puck is slated to drop at 2:30 PM.
